After waking up America for the past 28 years with his morning talk show, Regis Philbin is ready to hang up the suit and kick back. He announced his retirement this morning on air. He apparently didn’t tell anyone about this move until only 15 minutes before they went live! Talk about being blindsided! Sources say his co-host Kelly Ripa was not upset, however. She’s probably excited thinking she might rock solo! LOL! Regis said he’ll tape his last show towards the end of the summer.
He’s worked hard so he definitely deserves some great relaxation time! Best of luck!
