Canadian businessman, Jamie Salter, has bought the rights to Marilyn Monroe’s name and image with plans to introduce a line of the late film icon’s branded lingerie, handbags, jewellery, fragrances, and a possible reality-TV show. “She’s the most iconic female personality in the world,” says Salter. “She’s timeless. The biggest and the best aspire to be like her: Madonna, Lady Gaga, Angelina Jolie, Lindsay Lohan. They love her.”
Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, but a person familiar with the matter said it was in the neighborhood of US$20-million to US$30-million.
Last year alone, Marilyn’s likeness generated an estimated US$4-million to US$5-million.
So this could be a good investment!! We’ll see!
