Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb will let coach Andy Reid know Monday that he wants to leave the team if Michael Vick is brought back as the starter next season, ThePhiladelphia Inquirer reported Sunday citing a source.

The Eagles’ season came to an end Sunday with a 26-16 playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers, and post-game Kolb — who has been the backup quarterback for most of his four years with the team — said he wanted to be a starter next year.

“I love it here, as everybody knows,” Kolb said. “My family’s settled in here. I would love to be starting here. But I want to be starting somewhere.”

Asked if could take another season as the Eagles’ backup, Kolb said: “I can’t answer that question.”

The 26-year-old has another year left on his contract after the Eagles handed him a one-year extension in April following the trade of Donovan McNabb to the Redskins.

McNabb’s departure meant Kolb was handed the starting role for the start of the season, but lost the job to Vick after sustaining a concussion in the season opener.

Vick, making his first start since serving 19 months on federal dogfighting charges, led the Eagles to a Week 2 win over the Detroit Lions and followed it up with a string of electrifying performances.

Vick is not under contract for next season, but the Eagles are expected to bring him back, according to the report.
