One man’s trash is another man’s lifesaver????
A Hell’s Kitchen man’s suicide attempt was foiled Sunday afternoon when a huge pile of garbage that’s been collecting since last week’s blizzard broke his fall from a ninth-floor window, reported the New York Post.
The man jumped from his apartment at 325 W. 45th St. at 12:04 p.m., according to the NYPD.
He’s believed to be in his 30s and was taken to Bellevue Hospital.
“I guess the trash saved the guy,” said Ingrid Suprock, 26, a fellow building resident, according to the Post.
Blame it on what many New Yorkers have called a poor performance by the city in cleaning up after the storm.
Unplowed streets led to a suspension of trash pick-up and drastically slowed the response times of emergency vehicles, resulting in the death of a newborn baby in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, and the death of a 75-year-old woman in Corona, Queens.
