The NFL Players Association has filed a grievance on behalf of suspended Washington Redskinsdefensive lineman Albert Haynesworth, sources confirmed to ESPN on Thursday.

The NFLPA will try to get back some of the more than $847,000 in salary Haynesworth could lose since his Dec. 7 suspension for conduct detrimental to the team.

The Redskins will likely tell an arbitrator that among Haynesworth’s transgressions was his refusal to speak with head coach Mike Shanahan; the NFLPA will likely counter that despite Haynesworth’s behavior, he was not given a written reprimand until he was suspended, CSNWashington.com reported.
