Officials at La Roche College in Pittsburgh say the head coach of the school’s men’s basketball team has died after collapsing at practice.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review report school officials say coach Scott Lang collapsed during practice Friday night and died at the hospital.
A message left with a school spokesman by The Associated Press was not immediately returned.
Colleen Ruefle, the school’s vice president of student life, says Lang was standing at center court watching practice when he collapsed around 5 p.m. She tells the Post-Gazette that a trainer started performing CPR within seconds.
Lang, who was in his early 40s, had coached at the Division III school for 18 years, and been head coach of the men’s basketball team for 14 years.
