Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers first-round pick Keith McCants was arrested early Wednesday morning and charged with possession of cocaine, police told the St. Petersburg Times.
The Times reported Wednesday that McCants was stopped by police as he drove out of a strip club parking lot just after midnight Wednesday.
Police told the paper they stopped McCants because he failed to stop while leaving a private road. When police stopped McCants, the Times said, they saw a crack pipe in the middle console.
Police then searched the car and found one piece of crack in the purse of a female passenger in the car, according to The Times.
The Times reported both McCants and his passenger, Christina Shamika Campbell, were arrested and that police seized McCants’ vehicle.
McCants was the No. 4 pick in 1990 out of Alabama, but is widely considered one of the biggest busts in NFL history. He played in 88 career games with three teams over just six professional seasons.
