Looks were somewhat deceiving in LeBron James’ return to Cleveland on Thursday night.

The seemingly boisterous, but overall well-behaved Cavs crowd at The Q had a few bad apples in The King’s return.

The Cavaliers announced after the game that one fan was arrested for unruly behavior, and four others were ejected. Also, arena security confiscated 12 inappropriate T-shirts and 24 signs that were “offensive,” according to WKYC-TV in Cleveland.

According to the same report, one fan tried to burn a LeBron Cavs jersey next to a patrol car outside the arena. The officer asked the fan to stop. The fan obliged and walked away.

The Cavs have been working with the NBA and Cleveland Police Department for about three months to come up with a security plan for James’ return. Overall, the crowd booed, chanted, hollered and, as expected, expressed their outrage over James’ departure from the franchise last June. All in all, reports indicate there wasn’t much worse than that.

FanHouse’s Sam Amick was on the scene. Amick saw a man carried out by policemen due to drunken behavior that led to an attempted arrest gone wrong. Amick said he saw the man inside the arena press room as he was dragged off with blood dripping from his beaten face.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said he saw a battery thrown near the Heat bench toward the end of the game.

Officers were in plain clothes and in uniform both outside and inside.

Beer was served in plastic cups rather than bottles.
