Nicki Minaj’s debut album, Pink Friday, just finished its first official week on the charts. The numbers have rolled in and not only are they good enough in theirself to silence the naysayers (375k)…but she’s broken records once again! The first record she broke this year was being the first female solo rapper to hit number one with no feature since 2003 (that was Missy Elliott.) Then she had 7 simultaneous songs in the Top 10. Now she becomes the best selling female rapper’s debut week in HISTORY! There was only person who has sold more, Lauryn Hill with 422,000 on the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, BUT she was not put in the hip-hop category, thus making Nicki the first! Missy comes in shortly behind with 260,000 on Under Construction. Says Nicki of this feat, “I am in the company of 2 amazing groundbreaking women & for that, I am beyond grateful.
