Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson injured his right ankle in the first half of Sunday’s game against the Washington Redskins.
Peterson was hurt when he was tackled on a 1-yard carry late in the second quarter.
The Vikings said Peterson was probable to return, although he did not play in the final series of the first half when Minnesota was running a two-minute drill. He had his ankle wrapped, then stood on the sideline with his helmet, appearing ready to re-enter the game if needed.
Earlier in the game, Peterson went over the 1,000-yard mark for the fourth time in his four-year NFL career.
