If you’ve been sending business messages via Facebook, stop now because you may be liable!! Debt collection agency, Mark One LLC in Florida, is being sued by a woman who claims a debt collector went far beyond the usual phone calls in an attempt to collect $362 for an unpaid car loan by sending her messages on Facebook and by reaching out to the plaintiff’s family on the social networking site to have her call the agency. According to Fox News, Plaintiff, Melanie Beacham, says she never expected to hear from a collection agency on Facebook. Her attorney, Billy Howard, says the debt collectors violated Beacham’s privacy and Florida’s consumer protection law, which prohibits collectors from harassing people. Although Mark One has denied doing anything wrong, the agency has acknowledged using Facebook as a form of communications means if people don’t respond to other ways first.

Hey, maybe she’s hoping that now she’ll make the $362 she didn’t have in the first place! Just saying!
