New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush, who has missed the past seven games due to a broken fibula, plans to play Sunday against Seattle, according to a source familiar with the situation.

Bush has been targeting Sunday’s game for Seattle for a while now. He recently returned to practice and some thought he might be able to play in Week 9 at Carolina. But New Orleans held Bush out, giving him the Saints’ bye week to rest up for a return against the Seahawks.

Bush broke his fibula in the Saints’ Week 2 win at San Francisco. He caught nine passes for 63 yards and a touchdown and had seven carries for 18 yards before he was injured.

The Saints (6-3), tied for second in the crowded NFC South race, were 2-0 before Bush got hurt, including the win over the 49ers. They’re 4-3 in his absence.
