Chad Pennington’s return has lasted only two plays.
The Miami Dolphins quarterback left the game Sunday against Tennessee with another injury to his troublesome right shoulder. He was hit while throwing an incompletion on the first play, completed a pass on the next play and then called timeout and left the game.
After being treated briefly on the bench, Pennington departed through a tunnel accompanied by medical personnel. Chad Henne, demoted to second string during the week, replaced Pennington and led Miami to a touchdown to complete the drive.
Pennington was playing for the first time since a shoulder injury ended his 2009 season in Game 3. He then underwent surgery on the shoulder for the third time.
