Billboard magazine has crowned the lead singer for the hip hop band, The Black Eyed Peas, Fergie as the “Woman of the Year.” On the 2^nd of December the “Dutchess” will presented with the honor of “Woman of the Year” in New York City by Billboard.

As the only female artist of the hip hop band Black Eyed Peas, Fergie was truly humbled to be nominated and then to be named as the winner of the award she was astonished, but truly felt as if it was a “great career achievement.”

Billboard’s “Woman of the Year” honor definitely pays tribute to the female artist who has made a trail blazing effort in her career through all of her accomplishments, which Fergie, who is also known as the Dutchess, most definitely has.

In fact, the only solo album in which Fergie has ever produced, which was entitled, “The Dutchess,” went mutli-platinum in 2006. However, she has has continued over and over again to sell out many venues and events, while selling out scores of hits with her hip hop band, the Black Eyed Peas.

The Black Eyed Peas continue to release top selling singles and presently have a brand new CD, “The Beginning,” which will be released on the 30^th of November. This will be their sixth CD released and a follow up to the chart topper CD, “The E.N.D.,” which happened to sell almost three million copies within the United States alone.

Other Billboard “Woman of the Year” honorees included Ciara, Beyonce, and Reba McEntire.
