With their teams set to play in the World Series, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom and Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck will engage in a friendly wager on the outcome of the series.

A spokesman for the mayor says it will be more involved than previous wagers with Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, whose teams were beaten by the Giants on their way to the World Series.

Reed had to hoist the Giants’ flag over Atlanta City Hall. Nutter will have to wear a Giants’ cap at a Veterans Day event.

Cluck has said he would be open to a wager involving barbecue or a 10-gallon hat.

The Giants and Texas Rangers are set to open the series in San Francisco on Wednesday.
