This isn’t the first time Waka’s mom-ager Deb Antney and booking agent Johnnie Cabbell have been sued by promoters for taking money and failing to produce the artist. Last year the two were in heat for taking money for Gucci Mane shows while he was locked up (thus unable to perform). There were also rumors of booking issues over Nicki Minaj. Both parties left Deb and Johnnie’s representation shortly after. Now they’re being sued by Alabama promotions company G.D.B. Promotions for over $1 million for failing to deliver Flocka after they spent over $20,000 dollars to book him for a 21 & under show in June of 2009.
According to a report, there were already enough problems leading up to the show. Phone tag, doubling fees last minute and threats of cancelling the appearance all lead up to the week of the scheduled performance, when Flocka’s road manager requested another $1,000, and changed the show date to November 28.
The concert was scheduled to take place in Birmingham, AL but alas….it never took place. The promotions company seeks over $60,000 for the deposits paid to Cabbell and co. and various show costs, and over $1,000,000 in punitive damages.
Yikes!
