Just a day after Rick Sanchez’s radio rant against Jon Stewart and Jews in general (that caused him to lose his job), the Daily Show host has fired back.
Stewart hosted Comedy Central’s Night of Too Many Stars autism benefit special on Saturday and opened up with a jab at Sanchez…
In his opening monologue, Stewart asked people to make a donation to help autism education but added a caveat: “If you went on radio and said the Jews control the media…you may want to hold on to your money,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Stewart went on to say that if Sanchez’s comments about Jewish people were accurate, “All he has to do is apologize to us, and we’ll hire him back.”
In his ill-advised radio remarks, Sanchez labeled Stewart a “bigot” and snarkily claimed Jewish people ran “all the other networks.” CNN quickly gave him the boot.
Also piling on at Saturday night’s event was surprise guest David Letterman, who cracked that he was in town “helping Rick Sanchez clean out his office.”
