Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick was hurt in the first quarter of the Washington Redskins game as the Eagles trailed early.  Vick was hit by two Washington defensive backs as he tried to score a touchdown. The early diagnosis is a rib injury and Vick has left for x-rays.

Kevin Kolb replaced Vick.

The Eagles opened the game poorly, giving up a big punt return to the Redskins’ Brandon Banks.

Washington then ran the ball easily on the Eagles’ confused and overmanned defense.

Ryan Torain scored on a 13-yard TV when Quintin Mikell missed a tackle on Torain.

McNabb then hit Chris Cooley with a 31-yard TD pass as Stewart Bradley missed coverage on Cooley.

Vick left the game on the next series after his run was negated by a Max Jean-Gilles holding penalty.

David Akers kicked a field goal after the penalty.

But the Redskins marched down the field again and where helped by a blown coverage by Eagles’ rookie safety Kurt Coleman on a 56-yard McNabb pass.

Philadelphia fans gave the former Eagles quarterback a standing ovation as appeared with the Washington Redskins on Sunday, then booed him 15 minutes later.

McNabb came out at 1:45 p.m. for an early workout and was cheered. He then walked off the field to even more cheers after 3 p.m. from fans who were in the stands early for the game.

There were reports of only a handful of boos when McNabb appeared on the field.

Then, McNabb came out at 4 p.m and again he received cheers from the fans, many who gave McNabb a standing ovation.

But when McNabb came into the game at 4:15 p.m., the crowd could be heard booing McNabb and the Redskins offense.

McNabb was the star player for the Eagles for 11 years until his trade to the Redskins on Easter night.

“I don’t know too many backups who have Steve Young type of years,” McNabb said.

Last week,  McNabb spoke at the weekly media day for the Washington Redskins and the topic of the Andy Reid-Kevin Kolb-Michael Vick triangle came up.

“That’s Philadelphia,” McNabb said shaking his head. “Things like that happen. I’ve been a part of that for 11 years and, obviously, as you see, it just doesn’t stop.”
